Tommaso Ottieri. La mano tua, divo januario dicatum
With this exhibition, the architect and artist Tommaso Ottieri, born in Naples in 1971 but also active abroad for several years as an exhibitor in many art galleries – such as Paris, Geneva, San Francisco, New Orleans, Lisbon and London - brings his contemporary vision inside one of the most popular museums in Naples, keeper of important classical works of art.
In a path scattered throughout the halls of the San Gennaro Treasure museum, the artist presents nine small, medium and large oil-on-panel works, with the aim of proposing and stimulating a new way of using and perceiving the works kept in the Treasure of San Gennaro. In this encounter between past and present history, Ottieri's works are enhanced by the Baroque context of the Museum, which in turn acquires value thanks to the way they are displayed. The light structures on which they are positioned give ample space to the surrounding space.
