Santiago Calatrava - Nella luce di napoli
Four hundred works - sculptures, drawings, maquettes - of one of the most brilliant creative minds of our days: the homage to Santiago Calatrava, architect, engineer, painter, sculptor, designer, arrives in Naples, in the Museum and Real Bosco of Capodimonte all-round artist.
Eclectic spirit in the continuous search for a balance between volume and light, the two essential elements of his concept of architecture ("a harmonious game of balance of volumes under the light" in the definition of Auguste Rodin in his book Les Cathédrales de France, 1914).
The exhibition in Capodimonte already underlines this element in the title: Santiago Calatrava. In the light of Naples (from 6 December 2019 to 25 July 2021), but also the artist's love for the city, cradle and port of the Mediterranean, a crossroads of different cultures and civilizations.
An exhibition strongly desired by Calatrava, welcomed with enthusiasm by the director of the Museum and Real Bosco di Capodimonte Sylvain Bellenger, co-curator with Robertina Calatrava, the artist's wife and created in collaboration with Studio Calatrava.
