Gli spagnoli a Napoli. Il Rinascimento meridionale.
A short but very successful season that of the Spanish artists of the early sixteenth century in Naples, which the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte exhibits in collaboration with the Museo Nacional del Prado. Here, a first version of the exhibition was inaugurated in October 2022.
The conspicuous production of paintings and sculptures proposed here is the result of a huge funding from the religious orders and the aristocracy of that period. Eager to leave an indelible mark of their greatness, these patrons entrusted works of ambitious magnificence to the leading Spanish artists were living in Naples at the time. Among them, the exhibition displays works by Pedro Fernández, Bartolomé Ordóñez, Diego de Siloe, Pedro Machuca, Alonso Berruguete.
